When I hear Peoria I automatically think baseball. I have no idea what triggers that. I've never been to Peoria and can't off the top of my head pinpoint any baseball movie references to it. Honestly, if I think about it, it sounds like a mix between pee and diarrhea and I am sure there are running jokes about that (no pun intended).
Peoria boasts a spectacular list of representatives in many fields; JIM THOME, Joe Girardi, Dan Fogelberg, Shaun Livingston, Richard Pryor, and most importantly (for this post and my collection) P-Town Tom.
He is one of the best traders out there. He runs a terrific blog EAMUS CATULI! that I follow religiously always awaiting new posts. The dude could give a class on how to send a PWE safely. We have only swapped cards a couple times but I am always excited and honored to receive anything from Peoria. Truth be told, I have an overflowing sorting box with his blog's name on it that I need to send to him and this PWE was unnecessary motivation to get that out to him.
Tom sent me a card I have been hemming and hawing about just buying online since it came out. I stuck to my guns though and assured myself it would be received through the mail or I would find it in a quarter box a year from now. Well, Tom came through for me and tossed in a variation too!
There has been a lot of opinions spewed about online over the looks of these 2017 Fire cards. Personally, I think they are cool. I see them as a novelty set and I don't think cards are meant to fit any specific mold. I think too often its name-team-position on the bottom of every card and the company only has to decide whether or not to border it. These Fire cards are en fuego.
THANKS TOM!
Tom is a good dude - he truly is one of the best Peorians (?) to ever inhabit the locale!
